Mean = (30 † 60 † 46 † 29 † 50 † 30 † 40)/8
= 320/8

2x 8 = 26
2x = 26 – 8
2x = 18
x = 18/2
x = 9

The sum of 0.67 m and 1.81 m is the height of Anthony.

Value of 7 in 479 is 70 while in 729 is 700
The sum of values of 7s
= 70 † 700
= 770

3x = 90°
x = 90º/3
x = 30º
#16. Calculate the area of a semi circle whose diameter is 14 cm. (take π = 22/7)
A = πr²
Where r = 14/2 = 7 cm and π = 22/7
A = 22/7 x 7 x 7
A = 22 x 7
A = 154 cm²
Area of semi circle is
= 154/2
= 77 cm²

Fifty five thousand and sixteen is
= 55 000 † 16
= 55 016
#18. A miner picked up gold of the following sizes 0.3g, 0.28g, 0.19g, 0.32 and 0.25g. Arrange these weights in order of sizes beginning with the smaller.
0.3 – 0.300 – 300 4th
0.28 – 0.280 – 280 3rd
0.19 – 0.190 – 190 1st
0.32 – 0.320 – 330 5th
0.25 – 0.250 – 250 2nd
Therefore, 0.19, 0.25, 0.28, 0.3 and 0.32
#19. Covert 0.8 tonne to kg.
1 tonne = 1,000 kg
1 x 0.8 t = 1,000 x 0.8 kg
0.8 t = 1,000 x 8/10 kg
0.8 t = 100 x 8 kg
0.8 t = 800 kg
#20. A job takes 30 men for 15 days to complete. How many men working at the same rate are needed to complete the job in 10 days.
The number of men to complete the work in 10 days at the same rate is
= (30 x 15)/10
= 450/10
= 45 men
